'Searches for rare leptonic B decays with the BaBar detector'

Abstract:
Rare decays of the B meson are an important test of the Standard
Model. Purely leptonic decays of the B are predicted to exist but have
never been observed. Their measurement is of particular interest as they
are a sensitive probe of the B meson structure.
These decays are also sensitive to models of physics beyond the
Standard Model, and their study can place
limits on such models. I will present recent results from the BaBar
Collaboration on leptonic rare B meson decays."
