Instructions for Writing Proceedings for Beauty 2003:
-
The proceedings for Beauty 2003 will be published by the
American Institute of Physics
(AIP). Detailed instructions on how to write your
proceedings are given below.
-
A set of macros, style files and a LaTeX template can be found as
These (compressed) files contain all necessary style files needed for
using the aipproc class.
-
Use the template Beauty2003_template.tex as starting point
for writing your proceedings. It contains examples of how to includes
figures, create tables and other examples.
-
Please try to avoid excessive use of "\def",
"\newcommand" or "\renewcommand".
We provide a macro file from BaBar for common
definitions of particle names etc. that you can make use of. It is called
babarsym.tex
and included in the distributions above. If needed other
"standard" packages such as "amsmath" can be included.
-
If some figures or tables appear too small in a single column, please
use two-column figures or tables. Keep in mind that for some colour
pictures reproduced in gray-scale, some colours don't show up and
others cannot be distinguished from each other. Please check the
quality of the figures by printing the final draft on a black and
white printer.
-
We encourage the use of bibtex for citations. A sample bibtex file called
Beauty2003_sample.bib is included in the distribution. You can include
your citations in bibtex format using
SPIRES.
Click on the "BibTeX" link of the found citation and paste the given
content into your Beauty2003_sample.bib file. The use of bibtex
conveniently takes care of correctly ordering your references or ignores
references in your .bib file that are not used in the Latex file. To run
bibtex you have to issues the following commands
- latex Beauty2003_template
- bibtex Beauty2003_template
- latex Beauty2003_template
- latex Beauty2003_template
As you can see, you need to re-run LaTeX twice to fix the references after
you obtained the bibliography by running bibtex.
-
When you run "latex Beauty2003_template" you will see that a test is
performed to check if all files required for the aipproc class are
available with your LaTeX installation. If you encounter problems consult
the files "README.txt" and "FAQ.txt". Useful hints are also given at the
AIP website.
In addition, please do not hesitate to contact us.
-
The page limit for your contributions is according to the length of your
talk:
- 20 min talk [17+3] --> 4 pages
- 25 min talk [20+5] --> 5 pages
- 30 min talk [25+5] --> 6 pages
- 45 min talk [35+10] --> 8 pages
